IT Administrator

Come be a part of the Elks quiet network of good deeds! The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the USA has an immediate opening for an IT Administrator to provide support to our Lodges regarding the membership management system.
Responsibilities include:
System Administration- Responsible for database systems backup and integrity.
- Monitor servers data-center peripheral equipment for error messages or problems. Use/administer Microsoft Operations Manager.
- Responsible for administration of network security with Checkpoint and UTM's and CONNECTRA VPN, subscription services such as Symantec and Qualys, and participating with outside security vendors. Reviewing and testing replacement services.
- Responsible for administration and configuration of Citrix XenServer, XenDesktop and XenApp.
- Reponsible for administration and configuration of NetApp SANs (inhouse and offsite DR).
- Install and configure operating system software and applications on PCs and deliver systems to user work areas.
- Install and configure operating system software and applications on Windows Servers and deliver systems to user work areas.
- Install and configure network devices - switches, print servers
- Install and program phone system components - cards, phones.
- Testing deployments - test hardware, operating system, security and applications on test network.
- Involved with network design and administration.
- Phone System Administration
- Supervise contract personnel as necessary.
- Install and/or replace hardware such as cards, drives, cables, other internal components and accessories such as monitors, keyboards, speakers, and mice.
- Install and configure server and workstation operating system software, using and developing deployment images or from factory OEM CD-roms.
- Applications installation and upgrades on workstations and servers.
- For all errors/problem, take prescribed action and/or report errors to senior technical staff.
- Restore files, databases and profiles from media.
- Maintain data-center equipment including performing the cleaning as prescribed.
- Oversee all vendor repairs; verify that the problem have been resolved prior to closing the call.
- Insure that scheduled backups are performed successfully and insure that essential files are not excluded.
- Test disaster recovery files as directed.
- Test disaster recovery solutions in Test Network environment.
- Instruct users on preventative maintenance procedures.
- Design and recommend path for backups. Participate in team for backup software upgrades.
- Administer and troubleshoot WAN load balances (Radware) and ISP's.
- Administer and troubleshoot Juniper routers and linkproof DNS appliances.
- Maintain and administer the servers to protect Elks web services, the HQ network and HQ wireless network. Author and edit rules as necessary for HQ staff in accordance with security policies.
- Conduct patches as required.
- Maintain Bluecoat and Proxy SG & AV.
- Checkpoint UTM's and Connectra VPN - maintain and assist administration of perimeter firewall. Work with outside security consultants to eliminate security risks to organization.
- Monitor and review penetration scans by subscription security service to help improve overall network security.
- Continually monitor and maintain patch deployment services for operating systems and anti-spam, anti-malware, and anti-virus software. Apply patches and hotfixes to applications to reduce security vulnerabilities.
- Anti-virus administration - maintain and monitor patch deployment and other updates.
- Admin future security systems as assigned
- Assist dept. troubleshooting of new issues by handling those issues which do not involve a single workstation, printer, scanners, telephones or Microsoft Office Applications.
- Assist resolving issues where areas of expertise are required or if dept. is short-handed.
- Develop resolution projects and lead team to complete solutions such as deployments as needed to resolve support issues or As needed to maintain user productivity or network security.
- LAN administration - maintain domain accounts, adding/deleting users and machines, editing/authoring group policies and security rules
- Maintain Network equipment & cabling.
- Perform backups of network servers. Administer/maintain backup server, update backup software. Schedule new backup jobs/selections, etc.
- Perform backup tape archival in a secure environment.
- Must have knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment.
- Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, HTML, etc.
- Experience using Checkpoint and UTM's.
- Maintenance of patches & service packs, using WSUS.
- Experience using Bluecoat application filtering.
- Experience using Radware and Linkproof.
- Experience using NetAPP SAN appliances in windows environment for provisioning, snapshots, etc.
- Advanced experience with Citrix Xen products (Server, Desktop and App)
- Experience programming and using HP switches.
- Use and support Microsoft Office products including Access and Excel.
- Troubleshooting TCP/IP.
- Creating PDF files using Adobe Acrobat, (Photoshop & Indesign preferred.)
- Symantec Security product experience including desktop products.
- Managing Microsoft Windows configuration with Group Policies.
- Automated deployment practices and setting up same.
- Compaq server & workstation maintenance & troubleshooting.
- Installing, maintaining & troubleshooting Windows 2000/2003 Server environments, including terminal services and Active Directory.
- Troubleshooting Exchange & SQL Server environments.
- Administering Symantec backup Exec system backups & recoveries.
- Installing, maintaining & troubleshooting Windows XP environments.
- Installing, maintaining & troubleshooting Linux environments.
- Security testing
Must also have excellent communication skills, project management skills, analytical skills, organizational skills, ability to multi-task; have knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment; ability to learn new troubleshooting techniques quickly, ability to set priorities and meet deadlines; able to work individually as well as participate on teams; ability to take the initiative to make decisions/choices without direct supervision; faster learner. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
