Shuttle Service Routes and Schedule

Public Transportation

With a population of more than half a million people, Portland and its metro area are bustling. Public transportation is fast, inexpensive and easy to use.

Washington Park station

A TriMet train pulls into Washington Park, the deepest rail station in the country. Exit here for the Oregon Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Oregon Zoo.

TriMet provides Portland's public transport.

TriMet provides rail, streetcar and bus service all over the city. Downtown Portland and the area around the convention center are part of “Fareless Square,” where travel within the square is free. Outside of the Fareless Square, fares are comparable to public transportation systems in other cities—a 2-hour pass costs $2.30 for adults, $1.50 for children and 95 cents for seniors.

Even better, for the cost of one fare, the TriMet Red Line can take you directly from the airport to the convention center in just under a half hour. It sure beats trying to hail an expensive (around $30 from the airport) cab!

You can get comprehensive directions to anywhere in Portland—by public transportation, car or on foot—using Google Maps.

Arriving By Rail

If you long for the golden days of intercity rail travel, consider Amtrak for your trip into town. Portland Union Station is served by the Cascades (originating in Vancouver, BC), the Coast Starlight (originating in Seattle or Los Angeles) and certain runs of the famous and scenic Empire Builder (originating in Chicago). Union Station is within Fareless Square, so you can easily connect to a bus to take you to the convention center.
