What is an Impact Grant?

A component of the Community Investments Program, Impact Grants are larger, competitive grants intended to address unmet needs in communities where Elks live and work. Impact Grants give your Lodge the opportunity to conceptualize, develop and implement a new project or to strengthen an existing one. For a list of the 2007-08 Impact Grant recipients, click here. How are Impact Grants different from other ENF grants?

They are competitive. All Lodges are eligible to apply, but only a select few will receive the grant. Impact Grants are not reimbursement grants. Funds are awarded up front.

Why should your Lodge get excited about Impact Grants?

For countless reasons, but most important, you are automatically eligible to apply. We encourage all Lodges to apply for an Impact Grant. The possibilities are endless.

How many Impact Grants will be awarded?

For 2008-09, the ENF Board of Trustees approved up to $500,000 in funding for Impact Grants. Since funding for this program is limited and Impact Grants are competitive, only a select number of Lodges will be awarded. Now is the time to start thinking about how your Lodge can benefit from this exciting opportunity. Don't wait, read on to learn more about Impact Grants and how to apply.

Important Dates & Deadlines:

  • April 1, 2008, Impact Grants application available online or by request.
  • July 7, 2008, Impact Grants Q&A Workshop at the 2008 Elks Grand Lodge Convention in Anaheim.
  • August 31, 2008, all applications must be postmarked by this deadline.
  • October 2008, grant recipients announced during ENF Month.
