The Maine Children's Cancer Program was developed to provide comprehensive community-based treatment closer to home. The treatment center is located in Portland and also includes an outreach program. The Maine Children's Cancer Program is also actively involved in clinical research and provides support programs for families. The Maine Elks also support a mobile diabetes-hypertension van that travels throughout the state furnishing free diabetes-hypertension tests to all persons regardless of age or financial ability.
