Message from the Exalted Ruler
Hello members, we got through our District Inspection with flying colors, thanks to all the officers and members for your help and attendance. The poker run and BBQ Dinner for the food baskets went well. Thanks to Sammy, JJ, Jim Kirkpatrick, Larry Nelson & Jimmie Boyd for your help. The Wii bowling tournament for food baskets was held and a fun time was had by all. The winners for this event were Linda Brett 1st place, Skyler Nelson 2nd place and John Brett 3rd place. Honorable mention goes out to our youths who participated, Korey Medart, Camryn Logans & Scott Nelson! Our Hoop Shoot was held and the winners for this event were, in the boys ages 8 – 9 division is Trey Green, in the boys ages 10 -11 division is Scott Nelson. Both boys will advance to the District Hoop Shoot which will be held in January. Thanks to Larry and Gail Donaldson from our lodge and to Jeff Oliver, Rick Lashley and all the other members from the Sherman lodge who helped. Don’t forget to hug and thank our Veterans on Veteran’s Day November 11th. Larry and Richard Wilkinson will be going to the Pottsboro Elementary School and giving a Flag Etiquette program to all the 5th graders. The North District Interlodge fall meeting will be held at the Lake Ray Roberts Lodge in Sanger on November 14th. The theme will be “Country Hoe Down”, Happy Hour from 4 to 6 pm, the Interlodge meeting will begin at 6:00, dinner will be at 7:00, the dance and music by “Back-In-Time” will be from 8pm to midnight. The Lodge is located at 910 Chapman Drive in Sanger, take exit 478 from I-35; the lodge is located between the Shell Station and Sonic. Sanger is not that far from us, so let’s see if we can get some participation from our Lodge in attending this function.
Remember and mark your calendars for the upcoming events: Sat. November 7th - PER Steak Night – Downtown Tues. November 10th - Bonham VA visit. Wed. November 11th - Veteran’s Day & Lodge Meeting Sat. November 21st - PER Steak Night - Lakesite Thurs. November 26th - Happy Thanksgiving - Bonham VA will be attending Lakesite for Thanksgiving Dinner. Sat. November 28th – Lodge Steak Night - Downtown Frank needs someone to sign up to go to the VA with him on Tues. Nov. 10th. Coming in December: Sun. December 6th - Annual Memorial Service at 1:00 PM Downtown. Wed. December 9th - Lodge Meeting with Initiation Sat. December 12th - Toys for Tots Spaghetti Dinner at 6:00pm at Lakesite.
