Lewiston Elks Recognize Local Eagle Scouts

On November 5, 2009, the Lewiston Elks Lodge hosted an awards night for the Boy Scout's Abnaki District.

At the event, Scout Leaders and Boy Scouts were recognized for various achievements. In addition, the Lewiston Lodge presented Certificates and American Flags to each of eleven Eagle Scouts, who earned their ranks during the past year.

The Eagle Scout rank is the highest rank in the Boy Scouts, and only a small percentage ever achieve that goal. In addition to completing 21 merit badges, the boys are required to organize and complete a community service project.

This was the first year that the Lewiston Elks were able to host the event, and it looks like the event will be held annually at the Lodge.

Presenting the awards were Exalted Ruler Michael Aube and Youth Activities Chairman Douglas Stone.
