Winter has just about left our neck of the woods, and the geese are heading back to the north country. Its warming up and maple sap is starting to run. Can’t wait to have some fresh New York State maple syrup!

Just stopped by to say hello and view your web page, maybe get some new ideas.

If your are in our area, why not stop by and say Hello! You can find directions to our Lodge on our web site under Links.

Thanks, Ed Becker, Lodge Webmaster, biged.7837@verizon.net

Wally Bunn (wjbunn@roadrunner.com)

I haven't been a member since the late 80's and have been living in Erie since 2002. I was disappointed that the current membership had to give up the tradional lodge building in Johnstown due to financial concerns.( as well as the ELK outside the building. My father, Walter Bunn, would have been extremely upset if he were were alive to witness that situation. He was a main cog in the Elks thru the 50s, 60, and 70s as well one of the people instrumental in buying the old North Fork Country Club. However congratulations on being able to keep the club open thru hard times as others locally and nationally have failed thru the years.

I remember the Geistown Country Club well as see by the your new members that you attracted many of the regulars from that club.

Good luck

Wally Bunn Erie PA

WHAT IS THIS COUNTRY COMING TO ??????? I CHECKED IT ON SNOPES & IT SAYS: TRUE !

This should make your blood boil...it DOES mine!

ABC NEWS BANS FLAG LAPEL PINS!

YESTERDAY THE BRASS AT ABC NEWS ISSUED ORDERS FORBIDDING REPORTERS TO WEAR LAPEL PIN AMERICAN FLAGS OR OTHER PATRIOTIC INSIGNIA. THEIR REASONING WAS THAT ABC SHOULD REMAIN NEUTRAL ABOUT 'CAUSES'.

SINCE WHEN IS SUP P ORT FOR PREVENTING DEATH AND DESTRUCTION SOME SORT OF A 'CAUSE'? SINCE WHEN IS PATRIOTISM TO BE DISCOURAGED?

I URGE YOU TO BOYCOTT ABC AND ITS SPONSORS AND AFFILIATES. WE ARE SLOWLY LOSING EVERYTHING OUR COUNTRY STANDS FOR AND EVERYTHING OUR MEN AND WOMEN FOUGHT AND DIED TO PRESERVE!

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO AS MANY AS YOU CAN. THIS HAS BEEN VERIFIED THROUGH: http://www.snopes.com/rumors/noflags.asp

Bill Eggert (bix1953@yahoo.com)

I enjoyed perusing your website, which I just discovered here in Atlanta. It brought back many warm memories of my father, Bill Eggert, a Past Exaulted Ruler (1963) & loyal Elks lodge member.

My brother Tom Eggert is your current chaplain, & carrying on the proud Eggert tradition in the Elks.

Long live the BPOE!

Bro. Joseph Marhefka, Jr (jsmarhefka@cox.net)

from Hampton, VA, Lodge #366

Hello from Hampton, Virgina! I serve on the hospital/home visitation committee. This committee reminds members "We Care About Them". On December 5, 2004 I had the pleasure of being the guest speaker for our Elks Memorial service. At this time we are starting a presentation to all members and friends concerning the new Advance Directories(Living Wills),that go onto a national directory, so when one goes into a hospital they no longer need to present a copy just tell them you are on the national register. What all is happening in Johnstown? Looking forward to visiting my home town of Bon Air during the Easter holidays and hope to stop by to say Hi!
