Dictionary Project Delivers Again

Since 2017, our Lodge has been delivering dictionaries to third grade students at as many as 12 Indian River Country Schools at the beginning of the school year. Nearly 1,000 dictionaries have just arrived.  See below.

Under the direction of Project Manager Paul Diaz, PDDGER, the Lodge assembled a team on September 27th to label the dictionaries and package them for delivery at the convenience of the participating schools. The volunteers who helped label the dictionaries were: Craig and Liz Phillips, Yolanda Sullivan, Terry Ketcham, Terry Williamson, Lois Dermody, Joe and Carol Palowich

Deliveries took take place on September 30, October 1 and 2.  Our thanks to Jane Ferguson, Joe and Carol Palowich and Terry Williamson for their help. All the dictionaries have been delivered.  The schools receiving them were Beachland Elementary,  Citrus Elementary, Dodgertown Elementary, Glendale Elementary, Imagine Schools at South Vero, Indian River Academy, North County Charter, School, Osceola Magnet, Rosewood Magnet, Vero Beach Elementary and Saint Helen's Catholic School. In all, we delivered 980 dictionaries to third-grade students and their teachers in the Vero Beach area.

This was our eighth year we have provided dictionaries to the schools in Vero Beach. The dictionaries are well received by the teachers and students and are used daily in the classrooms. For a short history of our Lodge's involvement with this project, visit our website.
