A look at the bags and trash picked up during the fall Ditch Walk on October 14, 2020
Thanks to funds provided through the Elks National Veterans Service Commission's VA Voluntary Serice Program; Pierre Elks Lodge 1953 provided treats for veterans who visited the VA Community Based Outreach Clinic in Pierre. The cookies were given out to veterans at the clinic during the week of November 9-13 as part of Veterans Day 2020.
Pierre Elks Lodge 1953 held the annual lodge memorial service (virtually) on December 6, 2020. Honored were 11 former members. Father Ron Garry of St. John's Catholic Church in Fort Pierre spoke during the event and music was provided by Karen and Steve Van Mullem.

The Pierre Elks Lodge held the 2020 Veterans Stocking Stuffer Project in November and December. On December 12, 2020; lodge members gathered to sort all of the items that were donated for veterans who are at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home and the federal Veterans Affairs facility--both in Hot Springs. Shown here are cards made for the veterans by local students.
Here's a view of the Pierre Elks Lodge members who spent the morning of Saturday, December 12 going through and organizing the many donations given during the 2020 Elks Veterans Stocking Stuffer event.
These bags of donated birdseed were decorated by local students and were destined for use at the Michael J Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home.
One of those helping sort donations for the 2020 Elks Veterans Stocking Stuffer project was Dalton Howe who was an Elks Legacy Scholarship recipient in 2018.
The 2020 Elks Veterans Stocking Stuffer project was another great success! Several boxes full of donations were taken to the state and federal veterans facilities in Hot Springs, SD on December 14, 2020.
On December 14, 2020; the Pierre Elks Lodge delivered over $26,000 in funds and gifts to the veterans at the federal and state facilities in Hot Springs. Items as small as t-shirts and shampoo to as large as big screen TV's were given to the federal veterans facility and to the state veterans home. Shown here (on left) is Michael J.
