The Nov. 30, 2007 Red Cross blood drive was very successul, thanks to the volunteer efforts of many Elks including (left to right) Scott Crosby, Steve Jewell, Roger Leblond and Alfred Carpenter, who worked at the registration table.

Skowhegan Savings Bank Marketing Officer Karen E. Hart (right) presented a $1,000 check to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program (MCCP) on Oct. 31. Also pictured are Robert T. Godin, chairman of the Maine Elks Association MCCP Private Sector Committee and Julie A. Washburn, Exalted Ruler of the Skowhegan-Madison Elks Lodge.



Skowhegan-Madison Elks Lodge Exalted Ruler Julie A. Washburn presents a check for $3,294 to Donald A. Richard, chairman of the Maine Elks Association Maine Childrens' Cancer Program Committee. Richard, a past state president, accepted the donation at the Oct. 10, 2007 meeting.

Inner Guard Robert Pomelow (right) presented a POW-MIA flag to the lodge at the Sept. 26 meeting. Pomelow, a Vietnam veteran, wanted the lodge to recognize the 89,000 American service members still unaccounted for since World War II. Accepting the flag are Lecturing Knight and Veterans Service Committee Chair Susan Horsman (left) and Exalted Ruler Julie A. Washburn (center).



Exalted Ruler Julie A. Washburn presented 2006-07 Elk of the Year Linda Laney with her recognition plaque at the Sept. 26, 2007 meeting.

The Lodge Activities Committee, chaired by Louann Barnes, hosted a Hawaiian luaa on Sept. 22,2007 featuring a roast pork, scalloped potatoes, pasta salads, fresh corn-on-the-cob and more. The $9.95 meal drew a huge crowd.
