Red, White and Blue Festival

The Red, White and Blue Festival was held Saturday June 29th at the University of Arkansas Mountain Home Campus. It was an all day event celebrating the 4th of July. There were vendors, music and fireworks throughout the day. Drug, Alcohol, and Bullying awareness was our focus for the day and we made a few new connections. A junior high nurse asked if we could make some of these brochures available to her office for the upcoming year, which we certainly will! We had 6 volunteers in addition to Chuck Stevens, Lecturing Knight and Drug and Alcohol Committee Chair. Craig Collier, Steve Buzka, Linda Buzka, Ingrid Stevens, Derek Tijerina all helped Chuck Stevens make this a successful day!

"I would like to personally thank Craig Collier, Steve and Linda Buzka, Mary Markham, Ingrid Stevens, one of our newest members Derek Tijerina at the Red, White and Blue festival! Derek also saved our day by providing a portable power source with a fan and music!! Let’s not forget Danny Fife and Kathryn Fife for coming through at the last minute with the canopy that provided us with shade!! Overall, an awesome effort to educate youth and parents about the dangers of Drugs, alcohol and bullying! Thank you Elks Lodge #1714 Volunteers for your valiant efforts all day in the scorching heat!"
