1/28/2025 Miles City, MT Lodge No: 537

uses its Spotlight Grant to start an animal food pantry. The Lodge saw that many people in the community struggled to provide food for their pets. The Lodge works with local animal-based non-profits and vet clinics to spread the word and identify pets and families in need of the service.

1/28/2025 Washington DC-Rockville, MD Lodge No: 15

uses its Beacon Grant to partner with a local non-profit to support families transitioning from homelessness. Lodge members mentor the families through the online shopping experience, which many are experiencing for the first time, and help purchase essentials. While parents shop, other Lodge members organize activities for the children, including a pizza party and crafts.

The Elks National Foundation allocated nearly $16 million this year to fund the Community Investments Program. Lodges meet local needs through grants that offer Elks opportunities to serve their community in ways that will raise the Lodge's profile, energize the membership, encourage former members to return to the fold, and gain the notice of people who want to be part of an organization that's doing great things. To learn more about the Community Investments Program, please visit elks.org/CIP. If you would like to speak to someone in the CIP office, we can be reached at 773-755-4730.
