BUILDING HISTORY: Prior to 1939, the then-vacant lot where the Lodge is located was used for carnivals and as a site for a portable skating rink twice a year. In 1939, Riley Robinson built the current Lodge building as a machine/ welding shop for repairing farm equipment. (Riley Robinson's son, Jerry, became the first Exalted Ruler of our Lodge.)  In 1947, the building was used as a wood cabinet shop.  Then in 1949, Francis Lancey purchased the building, and it became "Lancey's Welding and Machine Shop."  Mr. Lancey did business at this location until 1960, when he moved over to 1st Street.  In 1960, Blaine White and Gary Strander bought the building, and it became "Massey Ferguson Tractor."  In 1971, Mr. Strander become and sole owner.  Mr. Strander's wife, Loretta, opened up a ceramics business called the "Mud Hut" from 1973 to 1975.  After that, the building was unoccupied until our Lodge received its charter from Grand Lodge in December 1984.  At that time, 90 new members were initiated there, and the Lodge was off and running.  We rented/ leased the building from the Strander family until we purchased the entire property in May 2001 from Bob Strander (still a Lodge member).
