7/9/2024 Casa Grande Valley, AZ Lodge No: 1957

uses its Impact Grant to provide relief from desert heat to people who are experiencing homelessness. Last quarter, the Lodge shared the story of a man experiencing homelessness who found help through the program, and eventually got a job and secured permanent housing. Since then, he has returned to volunteer for the program to support others experiencing similar struggles.

7/9/2024 Staten Island, NY Lodge No: 841

uses its Beacon Grant for two projects. The Lodge partners with A Very Special Place, an organization serving individuals with developmental disabilities, to host a dinner party with a prom theme. At the dinner, the Lodge presents the organization with supplies needed to support its mission. The Lodge also partners with a local environmental organization to plan several beach cleanup events around Staten Island. Lodge members transport volunteers, provide refreshments and pick up trash to protect the marine life in the area.

The Elks National Foundation allocated nearly $16 million this year to fund the Community Investments Program. Lodges meet local needs through grants that offer Elks opportunities to serve their community in ways that will raise the Lodge's profile, energize the membership, encourage former members to return to the fold, and gain the notice of people who want to be part of an organization that's doing great things. To learn more about the Community Investments Program, please visit elks.org/CIP. If you would like to speak to someone in the CIP office, we can be reached at 773-755-4730.
