6/11/2024 Lorain, OH Lodge No: 1301
uses its Gratitude Grant to support a local resource center for mothers and their children. The center is run by a local women's health clinic and provides more than 800 mothers and children with food, diapers, clothing, and health and hygiene supplies annually. Members of the Lodge collaborate with the program to determine the greatest area of need and restock the supplies every other month.
6/11/2024 El Paso, TX Lodge No: 187
uses its Impact Grant for its TTP Community Outreach Program and I was able to see the project in action. Earlier this month, the Lodge provided more than $27,000 in hygiene products and essential need items to veteran organizations, elementary schools, a foster care facility, a health clinic, a rehab center, and countless individuals throughout the area. The El Paso Lodge has become a first point of contact in the community for people in need of health supplies.
6/11/2024 Dakota County, MN Lodge No: 2832
uses its Beacon Grant for two projects serving local veterans in need. The Lodge works with local veteran organizations to host a resource fair for women veterans. The resource fair includes a luncheon, seminars, and resources for healthcare issues specific to women veterans. The Lodge also provides support to the veteran resource centers located on college campuses in the Twin Cities area by replenishing the stock of food and beverages available throughout the school year.
The Elks National Foundation allocated nearly $16 million this year to fund the Community Investments Program. Lodges meet local needs through grants that offer Elks opportunities to serve their community in ways that will raise the Lodge's profile, energize the membership, encourage former members to return to the fold, and gain the notice of people who want to be part of an organization that's doing great things.
